THAMALAKANE RIVER LODGE
Thamalakane River Lodge is placed on the banks of the Thamalakane River, just 19kms from Maun, and en route to the famous Moremi Game Reserve.
En-suite stone chalets, some with private splash pools are positioned in the shade of the riverine forest, overlooking the river. Chalets and our swimming pool take advantage of the 180 degree view of the riverbanks lined with fluttering reeds visited by an ever changing array of water fowl, and birds and the occasional hippo. It is a delightful place to come home to after a day spent exploring.
Our widely acclaimed restaurant serves a la carte and buffet style meals from an ever changing menu. Dusk is spectacular, with the sun setting the river ablaze as is slowly dips behind the trees.

- 34 x Babbler chalets sleeping 2 adults on queen or twin beds. The spacious chalet interiors have a feature stone wall with an en-suite bathroom consisting of a shower
- King Fisher Family Chalets
- 2 x King Fisher family units. Consisting of 2 bedrooms sharing one bathroom. One bedroom accommodates 2 adults in King size bed and the other bedroom sleeps 2 children

Thamalakane enjoys a wonderful location which lends itself to relaxation around the pool and on your private patios enjoying the plentiful birds and spectacular sunsets. Venturing further a-field Thamalakane is an easy 20 minute drive from Maun, with it’s shopping centres and wonderful curio shops as well as the airport. Moremi Game Reserve is an hour’s drive away offering spectacular game viewing opportunities. The Delta is on our doorstep – a 45 minute drive by car or boat will see one at the Boro Poler station where you are able to participate in a traditional Mokoro trips and guided walks in the Delta. We have sight-seeing and safari day-trip packages available with pick up and drop off at the Lodge.

- MOKORO OVERNIGHT
- Boro Poler Trust – 40 minutes drive. Guests are picked up at the lodge and transferred to Boro Poler station where they embark on a guided walk
- MOREMI FULL DAY
- Travelling time to the Moremi: 1hour to South gate. Trips are undertaken in 4×4 game viewing vehicles with a qualified guide.
- SCENIC FLIGHT
- A 1 hour scenic flight over the Delta with a transfer from the lodge to the airport
- SUNSET BOAT CRUISE
- Sunset boat cruise – leaving the lodge/launching bay by boat for a sunset cruise along the Boro river into the Okavango Delta.
