São Tomé and Príncipe travel requirements

Kenya is open to all travellers with the requirement that visitors must:
• Not have a body temperature above 37.5°C (99.5°F)
• Not have a persistent cough, difficulty breathing or other flu-like symptoms
• All passengers arriving into Kenya through any point of entry must have a certificate of COVID-19 vaccination. Travelers below the age of eighteen (18) years are exempt from this requirement.
• All passengers coming to Kenya must be in possession of a valid COVID-19 negative PCR test certificate. The validity of the test has however been reduced from 96 hours to within 72 hours before departure regardless of the route of entry. Children below the age of five (5) years are exempt from this requirement.
NEW REQUIREMENT WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT: There will be no paper verification of COVID-19 test results & vaccination certificates upon arrival into Kenya. Airlines must ensure all travelers have uploaded both documents into global haven before boarding via www.globalhaven.org. Those who have not done this will not be allowed to board the flight to Kenya.
Passengers traveling out of Kenya will require a COVID 19 vaccination certificate. In addition, they will be required to abide by the particular travel, health and COVID-19 related requirements of the destination country
All Travelers originating their travel or transiting through the following countries will be required to undergo a free arrival rapid antigen test at point of entry to Kenya:
1) South Africa 2) Botswana 3) Zimbabwe 4) Malawi 5) Eswatini 6) Lesotho
7) Namibia 8) Mozambique 9) Zambia 10) Malawi 11) Ghana 12) Nigeria
If +ve, the individual must isolate for 10 days at a Government Approved Isolation Facility (own cost) for 10 days followed by an additional PCR test prior to discharge (own cost)
• Passengers whose certificates expire while in transit will be required to deposit their passport with the airport Port of Health Authorities and facilitate testing in a recognized facility at their own cost.
• All travelers arriving into Kenya MUST have an approved e-visa. Visas are no longer available on arrival.
• A health form must be completed 24 hours before passengers are able to enter the country. This generates a QR code to be presented on arrival.
Please note that no Traveler will be granted an exemption from the above requirements (PCR and Covid-19 Certificate) for purposes of leisure travel. In case of any other emergency travel, an application for exemption can be made through the Secretariat to the Health Authorities.
All travelers are required to submit daily health updates to the Jitenge platform for 14 days after arrival or until departure.
Visitors departing Kenya and traveling onto a new destination which requires a negative PCR test can visit any of these approved testing centres and must have a digitally verified Trusted Travel (TT) code applied to the negative Covid-19 certificate.
Those requiring a Rapid Antigen test within a few hours of departure will need to arrive at the airport in reasonable time to take the test and upload results to Trusted Travel before embarking.
Zambia travel requirements

Zambia is currently open to all travelers.
All travelers are required to generate a Trusted Travel Code using a PanaBios account, which can be created here.
- All travellers are required to take a Covid-19 PCR test conducted within 72 hours prior to departure and upload their test results to Global Haven for validation. Proof of this must be carried at all times.
- All visitors will need to have their temperature taken upon arrival.
- If a traveller's temperature is 38 degrees or above or they show symptoms, they will be subject to a COVID-19 test. If the test is positive, they will be taken to a government facility for treatment and quarantine.
- All travellers are expected to monitor themselves for possible signs of infection and report to a medical facility if they discover any.
- If visitors departing Zambia are flying onto another country or with an airline where a negative certificate is required, they will need to present this before leaving the country. Those travellers must prove the test has been taken within the previous 14 days.
- Remote testing at lodges/camps is now available, and hard-copy results and travel authorisation will be hand-delivered before your departure. Costs vary based on your location.
1-hour PCR testing facilities are available at Lusaka Airport, simplifying the process of being tested before your journey home, if that is required.

Democratic Republic of Congo travel requirements

The DRC is currently open to all travellers and the following guidelines are in place, excluding those below the age of 11:
- All travellers are required to present a negative PCR Covid-19 test, conducted within 3 days of flying.
- All travellers are required to take a Covid-19 test at the airport at the cost of $45 per person. This test needs to be booked three days before arrival.
- Travellers are required to self-isolate until a negative test result is received, which is generally within 24 hours.
- When leaving, all travellers are required to present a negative PCR Covid-19 test taken within 3 days of departure. This test can be booked here at the cost of $30 per person.

Reunion Island is currently open to all vaccinated travelers with the following guidelines:
- All travellers are required to fill out a mandatory tracking form no later than 48 hours before departure and present the receipt with the QR code at check-in and boarding.
- On boarding, all travellers aged 12 years or older are required to present a negative RT-PCR test conducted 72 hours prior to departure or a negative antigen test carried out less than 48 hours before departure.
- At check-in/boarding, travellers are required to present a COVID-19 vaccination certificate demonstrating that at least 4 weeks have elapsed since the first dose of Janssen vaccine or 1 week have elapsed since the second dose of the Pfizer-Biontech, AstraZeneca or Moderna vaccine; or since the first dose of these vaccines if the passenger holds proof that they previously have been positive with COVID-19.

The Maldives is currently open to all travellers and the below protocols must be followed:
- All travellers are required to submit a traveller authorisation form within 48 hours of departure to the Maldives.
- All travellers are required to present a negative PCR Covid-19 test, conducted within 96 hours of departure.
- All travellers must have a confirmed hotel reservation in a registered tourist facility for the entirety of their stay and will undergo a medical screening.
- Visitors to the Maldives are encouraged to install the contact tracing app ‘Trace Ekee’ upon or before arrival into the country.

Mozambique travel requirements

The President of the Republic of Mozambique, Felipe Jacinto Nyusi has announced the following:
- Tourism visas have commenced with international flights and all visitors must present a negative PCR test (not older than 72 hours) on arrival
- No quarantine is required if a negative PCR test is presented
- PCR tests are valid 14 days from the date of collection, this should be considered for those planning a multi-destination trip.
- Children up to the age of 11 are exempt from the test requirement to enter Mozambique
- The only land border currently open is the Lebombo/Ressano Garcia Border.
Republic of the Congo travel requirements

- Present a negative PCR Covid-19 test, conducted within 72 hours of entry (this excludes children under 11 years old).
- Adhere to temperature screening on arrival and departure.
- All travelers are required to take a PCR Covid-19 test on arrival.
Reunion Island travel requirements

Reunion Island is currently open to all vaccinated travelers with the following guidelines:

South Africa travel requirements

South Africa is now open to all travellers providing they:
- Present a negative Covid-19 PCR test, conducted within 72 hours of departure. Travellers who fail to provide a test or present symptoms will be required to enter mandatory quarantine facilities at their own cost.
- Complete the Traveller Health Questionnaire prior to or upon arrival.
For any travellers who intend to travel within 90 days of testing positive for Covid-19 and have since recovered, but are unable to test negatively, the following applies:
- You are required to send a request to porthealth.travel@health.gov.za for a letter of exemption. The request must be accompanied by a copy of your passport, the PCR test result that confirmed your initial infection and a letter from a medical practitioner confirming that you have fully recovered, you are not experiencing any new symptoms and you are fit to travel.
- The letter from your medical practitioner must be dated and have your name and surname as reflected on your passport, and the signature, physical address and contact details of your medical practitioner. It is advisable that the request be submitted well in advance of the intended travel to allow for sufficient time for processing.
Visitors will also be required to complete a Departure Health Questionnaire upon leaving South Africa.
Travelers returning to the US are required to take a Rapid Antigen test or Covid-19 PCR test no more than 1 day prior to departure. Pre-booking is highly recommended.
Swaziland (Eswatini) travel requirements

The Kingdom Eswatini is currently open to all travelers. All those entering the country will be required to present a negative PCR Covid-19 test, conducted within 72 hours of departure – travelers who adhere to this will be permitted to stay in the country for 14 days. The Eswatini government has stated that those visitors entering from a high risk country must quarantine at their own cost – we are awaiting further information on which countries this includes and will update when we have that.
Zimbabwe travel requirements

Zimbabwe is currently open to all travelers. All land border posts have re-opened for fully vaccinated travelers as well.
- Visitors must present a certificate of a negative PCR COVID-19 test, issued no more than 48 hours before their arrival at the border. These results must be uploaded to Global Haven to be validated.
- Travelers showing symptoms on arrival will be re-tested at their own expense (US$60 per test) at a facility available at the airport, even if they are in possession of a negative PCR COVID-19 test certificate. Where necessary, travelers will be required to undergo mandatory 7 day quarantine at their own cost.
- All travelers are required to complete a Health Questionnaire, provided on the plane or on arrival, detailing where they have traveled to and provide details for COVID-19 tracking purposes.
- Temperature checks will also take place upon entry.
- All travelers are advised to carry their Covid-19 vaccination certificate and the digital version with them at all times.
All departing travelers are required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR certificate issued no more than 48 hours prior to departure.

São Tomé and Príncipe travel requirements

São Tomé’s borders are open and welcoming all travellers but the following protocols must be followed:
- All travellers are required to present printed proof of a negative PCR Covid-19 test, conducted within 72 hours of departure. This excludes children 10 years of age and younger.
- Upon arrival all travellers will have their temperature checked.
- All travellers must take a Rapid Antigen Test 48 hours before flying between São Tomé and Principe, and vice versa. This excludes travellers with proof of vaccination.
Uganda travel requirements

Uganda's international airport (Entebbe) is open to all travellers. The following guidelines apply:
- All travellers are required to make an online visa application here before arrival and carry a hard copy of their approval documents.
- All arriving travellers are required to present a negative PCR COVID-19 test, with the results having been received within 72 hours of departure.
- Travellers leaving Uganda are required to take a PCR COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours of their departure.

Seychelles travel requirements

The Seychelles is now open to travelers with the following guidelines in place:
- Travelers are fully vaccinated, which includes the full dosage(s) and, if 6 months have passed, a booster dose. Those between the ages of 12 and 18 years are exempt from needing a booster.
- Unvaccinated travelers are required to present a negative Covid-19 PCR test conducted within 72 hours of departure, or a negative Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Test conducted within 24 hours of departure. Children under the age of 12 years are exempt from this.
- Complete the Health Travel Authorization form no more than 72 hours and no less than 9 hours before arrival. Your negative Covid-19 PCR test needs to be attached to the form.
- Take out valid travel insurance covering any Covid-19-related needs.
- Follow all safety rules the Seychelles has in place.
For those travelers requiring a Rapid Antigen test or PCR test before departing, this can be booked here and you will receive the results within 24 hours.
Mauritius travel requirements

Mauritius is open for international travelers and the guidelines include:
- All travellers above the age of 18 must be fully vaccinated and must present a negative PCR test, taken between 5 and 7 days before departure.
- Travellers are required to take COVID-19 antigen test on arrival at their hotel. Travellers will also be required to take an antigen test on day 5 of their stay.
- Travellers who haven't received a vaccination will be required to quarantine in-room for 14 days.
- All travellers are required to hold proof of travel insurance that specifically covers COVID-19.
Namibia travel requirements

Namibia is currently open to all travelers and the below protocols must be followed:
- All travelers, including those who have been vaccinated, are required to present a negative PCR Covid-19 test, conducted within 72 hours of arrival in Namibia.
- All travelers are required to have their test results validated through Global Haven.
- On arrival, travelers will go through a health screening and will also need to present a completed Travel Health Questionnaire.
- You may be required to take a Covid-19 PCR test on arrival at any point of entry.
It's recommended that you carry a hard copy of all necessary documents, including test results.

Tanzania travel requirements

Tanzania is currently open to all visitors with the following requirements:
- All travellers, aged six years and older, are required to present a negative Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test or Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAATs) carried out within 96 hours of departure.
- All travelers are required to take a Rapid Antigen Test at Points of Entry (US$10). On direct arrival into Zanzibar, the test costs US$25.
Travelers who were infected and recovered from COVID 19 shall be required to submit a proof of recovering from the disease obtained from Authorized Medical personnel upon arrival to Tanzania.
- All travelers, including children, are required to complete a Travelers Surveillance Form, to be submitted within 24 hours before arrival. Upon submission you will receive a Unique Health Code which will be requested during your health screening on arrival.
- All travelers are required to undergo temperature screening and complete a Health Declaration form upon arrival.
- Whilst in Tanzania, travelers are expected to observe and follow strict hygiene practices, such as regular hand-washing, physical distancing and wearing a mask in some indoor environments.
All travelers visiting Zanzibar will be required to take a Rapid Test on the day of departure at a cost of $25 per person per test.
All travelers who arrived through Zanzibar from COVID-19 high risk countries and wish to visit Tanzania mainland within 14 days from the date of arrival will be required to present a -ve Rapid Antigen Test certificate obtained during entry, otherwise they will be subjected to Rapid Antigen Test at Points of Entry.

Malawi travel requirements

Malawi is currently open to all travelers and the below protocols must be followed:
- All travelers are required to present a negative PCR Covid-19 test, conducted within 72 hours of arrival and uploaded to the Trusted Travel platform for verification.
- All travelers entering Malawi will be required to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days after arrival, and must follow all hygiene protocols and fill in a health declaration form stating where they will be traveling.
- Land borders have re-opened but visas are no longer available on arrival and must be booked beforehand.
- Upon exiting Malawi, all passengers are required to present proof of a negative COVID-19 test, taken within 72 hours of your departure.
From 10 December until 31 December 2021, all travelers are required to carry a valid electronic Covid-19 vaccination certificate.

Rwanda travel requirements

Rwanda is currently open to most travelers but they must adhere to the following protocol:
- Present certificate of a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test, conducted within 72 hours prior to arrival.
- Complete the Passenger Locator Form (found here) also within 72 hours prior to arrival. Your Unique Health Code (UHC) must be presented on arrival.
- All arriving passengers (except those visiting National Parks – see next point below) must test on arrival at the cost of $70. A PCR test is then required on day 3 & day 7.
- All arriving tourists visiting National Parks must take a PCR test on arrival, day 3 & 7 and daily Rapid Antigen tests (own cost). A facilitation request including guest information & travel itinerary must be submitted by the tour operator / hotel to visitrwanda@rdb.rw 72hrs prior to arrival. Tourists without a -ve certificate cannot enter the parks.
- All tourists over 5yrs, where applicable, visiting the country’s National Parks must present a -ve Covid-19 test result taken within 24hrs. A PCR Covid test is required for all those visiting primates at Volcanoes, Nyungwe and Gishwati-Mukura NP and a Rapid Antigen test for all other activities and Akagera NP.
- Upon departure undertake a final mandatory COVID-19 test, which should be taken within 72 hours of departure.
- Some parts of Rwanda remain in a state of lockdown. Despite this, the international airport, hotels and tourism is allowed to continue under the strict Covid-19 protocols outlined here.
Those looking to book a multi-destination safari can combine Rwanda with Kenya, as long as all tests taken have a negative result. The Gatuna border with Uganda is now open for ease of travel.
Botswana travel requirements

Botswana is currently open to all travellers with the following guidelines:
• Travellers who are fully vaccinated (with a booster shot or having received their second dose less than six months prior to travelling) can enter Botswana without a PCR test. For those who have received the Johnson&Johnson vaccination, this only applies within two months of receiving it.
• Travellers who are partially vaccinated (i.e. those who haven’t taken all the doses, whose second jab was more than 6 months ago, or are waiting for their 2nd dose) & non-vaccinated travellers still need to provide a Covid-19 PCR test conducted 72 hours prior to arrival.
All children under 12 years of age are exempt from any vaccination and testing requirements.
